Editorial Policy
How we work, how we test, and how to hold us accountable.
Independence
MyPhoneSpec is editorially independent. Coverage decisions are made by the editorial team and are never for sale. Brands cannot pay to be included in a review, guide or comparison, nor can they influence scores.
How we test
Every phone we score has been used as an editor's primary device for at least two weeks. During that period we run a fixed test suite covering:
- Real-world battery endurance over a 6-hour screen-on day.
- Sustained gaming performance (Genshin Impact, 30-minute run at max settings).
- Standardised camera scenes — daylight, low-light, portrait, 5x zoom.
- Charging speed from 0–100% with the in-box charger.
Review units
We source review units through manufacturer PR loans and by purchasing units ourselves. Loans are always returned. When a unit is retained, we disclose it in the review footer.
Affiliate links
Some buying guides include affiliate links to authorised Malaysian retailers. If you use one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence what makes it into a guide.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Notable corrections are logged at the bottom of the affected article with a timestamp. To flag an error, email corrections@myphonespec.example.
AI use
We may use AI tools to assist with proofreading and to summarise long specification tables, but every published word is reviewed and edited by a human editor before it goes live.
